Robin Ashe has put together a well researched and thoughtful review of Den of the Wererats.
You can read the full review here on RPG.net
Too bad this set is out of print, because I'm sure after reading this review you'll want to run out and buy a copy or two.
I was a little surprised by the review, so I went searching for other reviews.
ReplyDeleteBoardgamegeek gives it a 6.5/10
Thoughthammer gives it 4/5 stars
Maybe Robin Ashe got up on the wrong side of the bed, or someone kicked the dog.
If they reprint this one, or the Haunted woods, i'm buying copies.
I think Robin Ashe wanted an RPG, opened the box to find a card game inside and got upset. :P
ReplyDeleteI was quite entertained by it really. The quality of the review speaks volumes.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteYou need to read the comments flowing from his review as well
lol- I missed the sarcasm. Well, the only thing I can say is that we fans need to drown out the naysayers with our own reviews.
ReplyDeleteWhenever an author comments on a review of his product, he has to be very very careful. I've learned my lesson in the past. While I don't think Dungeoneer is the greatest game ever made, I do think it is a bit better than "pretty pathetic".
ReplyDeleteMaking a Dungeoneer set is hard work; the multiple sequels have been made due to demand, not because I'm a masochist.
