Smaller, more intelligent cousins to the great white ape, red wasteland apes are broad-shouldered, 6-armed shaggy ape-men found in highland caves and remote crater forests. It is stronger and more intelligent than a common beast and can use clubs, bows, or simple tools. Red wasteland apes gain surprise on 1–3 on 1d6 when hiding among rocks or brush and can track intruders by scent. Most avoid cities but fiercely defend family bands and hunting grounds.
